OVER THE YEARS

Fuqua Construction originated in 1979, when Max Fuqua began building in the residential market. With his first church construction project in Oxford, Kansas in 1984, he discovered a passion to work with churches and the direction of the business has reflected that priority.
In 1984, Fuqua & Doerksen Construction, Inc. was formed with business partner, Terry Doerksen. Terry had a long history as a church construction supervisor. With their combined experience, Max and Terry began working on behalf of churches, teaming with design professionals to plan, design and build worship facilities that enhance and live out the mission statement of each individual congregation we form a construction relationship with. In 2000, Terry retired while Fuqua & Doerksen Construction Inc. continued in the same Design Build church construction work. Terry Doerksen was a valued partner and contributed substantially to the expertise of our services.
In 2007, the company name returned to Fuqua Construction Inc. as Max Fuqua, along with the same Design Build management team, supervisors and employees continue to provide an excellent and complete line of services in the construction industry.

Certified Church Consultants

Our membership with the National Association of Church Design Builders (NACDB) has allowed Fuqua Construction to offer our church customers an even broader service.  Max Fuqua is a Certified Church Consultant, giving him additional useful information to educate and advise churches and congregations as they consider their expansion needs. Other key employees, Bob Griffin, Bill Popp and Paul Thurston have also been trained as Certified Church Consultants in order to broaden our ability to assist our church customers.

Our experience has built a growing list of clients who have entrusted Fuqua Construction Inc. with their building projects. Included in our services is attendance at committee meetings, practical advice in the early planning stages, master planning, pre-construction drawings, 3D renderings, virtual tours, fly-by presentations, a smooth-running construction project and a quality turn-key facility.

Fuqua Construction has been privileged to have several projects selected for awards through the NACDB and their association with Worship Facilities magazine.
